Assad came out today saying that he would not help Hezbolla and Hamas attack Israel.  Additionally, the president offered that the return of the Golan-Heights to Syria was decisive for the improvemenet of relations between his government and Israel.  He also responded to claims that Hezbolla wanted to attack sites in Egypt, calling it ridiculous.

A World Bank report claims that both Palestinian mismanagement and Israeli sanctions have caused an acute water crisis in Palestinian controlled areas.  Israeli officials denied the severity of the crisis, claiming the report exagerated the extent of the problem.  The report concluded that Israeli citizens receive four times the amount of water that Palestinians have access to.
